Well, I just bought a new washer.

Whirlpool WTW630 series. It is a top loader without the agitator. It operates like a front loader but it doesn't have the issues of a front loader.

4.7 cu ft capacity, auto-load size sensor, etc.

At Lowes it was $800 with free delivery and carry off.
At Metro Builders supply (less than a mile and a half from my house) it was $560 with free delivery and carry off.

Best Buy doesn't carry the line for matching.
