That IS a real good deal. The only issue I have is, it's a AC powered unit, not a USB powered one. I only buy USB powered ones now.

My external HD is all jacked up and I need to try to salvage it, but I think that means that I will be sacrificng a ton of pictures (and porn) and other stuff. I am pissed off about that, too.

I paid 89 bucks for a Seagate 500gb external but that was over a year ago. I only use it for backing my shit up.

WD's drives aren't that reliable though. I replaced them on a regular basis at my last job. Eventually we went with Seagate because we didn't run into failures with them.
I bought a WD 1TB a few months ago and it lasted me 3 days before the drive died. Best Buy exchanged it and so far the replacement WD is ok. I did lose 200GB of music and movies though.
