Day/month/year just makes more sense.
It goes in order, shortest time period to longest.

I was just thinking about that too, I know in Spanish, I don't know the others, they say the day, then month but write month then day. Cinco de Mayo.

i always write the date day/month/year. I get confused when I look at people's drivers licences that have something like 06/08/77. is it august 6 or june 8?
