So I have an old Sportster here at work (Yeah, I'm finally back) that I cancelled about 3 monthes ago. But it's worked just fine, until now. It just realized that I cancelled that subscription.

Pretty cool, bro! Fluoroscopy I assume (by the name of the pic)? How many Roentgens does that thing put out?

How many Roentgens does that thing put out?that was a cell stained with flourscent antibodies, the antibody is specific for the endothelial cells that line blood vessels, which is texas red, and the blue is a DAPI stain as a control, also to make it easy to pick up in the scope. No roentgens since nothing radioactive was used I'm a juggernaut of awesomeness

Derick Wrote:its not a clean as it should be since the section was from a mouse, the antibodies were raised in a rat, and the fluorscence detection was done in a rabbit. If I would have had anti-rat fluroscence it would be clean with no backgroundGreg Mercer Wrote:Pretty cool, bro! Fluoroscopy I assume (by the name of the pic)? Crazy stuff, dude...way more advanced than any QC testing I do.
To be perfectly honest I tried to stay away from any and all biochemistry in school, so most of that stuff doesn't mean much to me...but I think I get the general idea of what you were trying to do. Greg Mercer Wrote:Crazy stuff, dude...way more advanced than any QC testing I do.quick explanation. Antibodies target specific antigens. In this case an antibody was made to detect a specific protein. That antibody was made in a rat. So i have a tissue section, placed the antibody onto the tissue, the only thing that antibody should bind to is the antigen or target protein. Then I add a second antibody which is fluorscently labeled that will target only the first antibody. This is an anti-rat antibody. So when I use the specific wavelegnth for the color of the fluorscence I should only see where the antibody complex is, hence where the target protein is. I'm a juggernaut of awesomeness

Really neat stuff, bro...I hope your research turns out positively.
All right, I really have to go to bed now. I have to get up at 5 PM to get ready to go bowling. I stayed up way too late today and will probably pay for it. :? Enjoy the show!
