If your looking for a good campaign, Battlefield games are fun and entertaining. COD games are not made with a quality campaign mode in mind but rather they really shine in the multiplayer online arena. So you you only play online occasionally and want a fulfilling campaign Battlefield would be the better call. Personally I Don't care as much about the solo game play, I just like the online multiplayer.

First I will be definitely buying COD MW3, if it’s beyond horrible, I will put battlefield on the xmas list.
I am on a bunch of gamer forums, and it seems the BF & COD games have the same rivalry as the Iphone & Android phones
People will only stick to their games and argue them to the death. so I guess I am a fanboy of the call of duty series
My first person shooter experience started with Socom on PlayStation 2 & unreal Tournament on the PC, I loved those games in college
I got my Xbox as a xmas gift in 2008, so that took care of my PS3 or Xbox question, & at that time everyone was playing COD World at War, I loved the campaign & multi-player for that game. Then all I heard about was how classic the first Modern Warfare was & nothing will ever beat it, so this made me realize there is a rivalry between Treyarch & Infinity Ward for call of duty developers.
Then MW2 came out, MW2 was fun and I did enjoy the campaign.
I like how each developer comes out with a game every other year
Black ops I loved playing online with everyone, thought the story for campaign was freaking awesome. Multi-player I had a love/hate relationship with it. At times the hit detection & lag was horrible I wanted to throw my controller, other times like Nuketown 24/7 it was the greatest game ever
With MW3- it’s a completely different game from the Treyarch games and the first time most of the dudebro's will experience the different developers. Also COD elite starts. So I may buy the Hardened edition which comes with a year membership to COD elite, so all map packs are included for the year for $100
If I can't find the hardened edition, I buy all my games from Costco, which sells games cheaper than $60 & the return policy is awesome. Then spend the $50 on COD elite membership, which I would be spending anyways on map packs.
The first week a new COD games comes out is always the most fun, everyone is online & new to the game

I will be buying MW3 the day it comes out, love that game, I will be taking the same route as Dong, the hardened edition.
I might also pick up Battlefield as a X-mas gift.
I probably wont buy any other games this year.
I was a Little League superstar, don't hate.

I posted detail on TOMB
Here is a copy of the post:

MW2 I was able to buy the hardened edition at my local Target.
I like to buy all my games at Costco because of the cheaper price & awesome return policy. Costco.com has the hardened edition but shipping takes 7-10 days. :banghead:
I may try to take off that Tuesday or Wednesday, I have a lot of time to use before the end of the year.
I will go by Costco, if they don't have the hardened edition, I will try target. If I can't get the hardened edition, I will buy the regular edition at Costco, and Costco usually sells the game $5-$8 cheaper & they carry a ton of copies
Then you can buy Call of Duty Elite separate for $50. With Hardened edition its $100, buying regular copy & elite separate will be $105-$110
Here is a good link that shows what comes with hardened edition: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.trueachievements.com/n5329/mw3-hardened-edition-and-cod-elite-detailed.htm">http://www.trueachievements.com/n5329/m ... tailed.htm</a><!-- m -->
you have until 11/13 to sign up for Elite separate & still receive founder status
So buying elite separate you miss out on the artbook, steel case for the game, and one avatar outfit that comes with the hardened edition- may be one or 2 more things, I need to look

Ok so I bought BF3 for the xbox and the computer, BF3 is definately a computer game rather then a console game. MW3 is definately a console game rather then a computer game. The vehicle interection alone with the large maps in BF3 and the "destroying terrain" that is included in BF3 sets it up as a completely different game when played on a computer. I am sure they don't want to market to computer games only, but thier new engine seems to be geared toward high end gaming computers rather then regular console games.
