I would get with Joe on this, he said something about how win8 sucks without a touch screen. I could be wrong.

I'm good with Windows 8. For some reason the performance sucked until I re-installed. It runs fine now especially after upgrading the memory on my old laptop. It would be much better with a touch screen, but it's not needed.

It's a good deal. I generally buy i5 based machines from Dell for our customers and they pay $600-$800 so I think you're getting a good deal.

You can set Windows 8 to look like what we are all used to instead of using the App look. There's a button in the corner that gives you the option to change it.
