There are 3 options for the medical benefits, we did the one with the highest deductions & lowest deductible. everything is covered 100% after $500 deductible. Also most of my paycheck is gone!

The one were the deductions are the lowest has a $2,000 deductible & everything is covered 80% after the deductible is met
Also should note, no lab/x-rays/scans are covered

Which plan would you have done?

the "cross my fingers, and hope I never get sick" plan

I'd feel bad for you if I actually owned stock in anything.

my Dad was telling me how broke he is the other day, and I was like damn, shit is getting bad for everyone. I kind of felt bad for him, untill he told me he dropped about 75,000 dollars on my 15 year old sister for cosmetic surgery.

What kind of cosmetic surgery?

there is more that goes into selecting a plan than deductible and coverage. We'd have to see the entire plan in order to make a reasonable decision

crooked teeth, braces wouldn't work I guess. they had to break her jaw, and straighten her mouth out or something.no medical reason to do it. purely for looks. Which is fine I guess.

You should go back to school for Network security. Then you can hunt down Chinese kids and beat them up.

Will mortgage companies give a one time payment deferral? I could really use a skip on March's payment.

They might now. I know when I was laid off BOA told me to suck it when I asked for that. I think your buddy Obama came down on them about them being dicks after they got bailed out. I got a letter 2 years later asking me if I needed help.

Shouldn't this great new Obamacare make everything free for us now?

Everything is the same between the plans except the deductibles. percentage covered after deductible is met, out of pocket max

$500 deductible 100% after deductible, out of pocket max $500- $292 out of paycheck every 2 weeks
$1,200 deductible 90% after deductible, out of pocket max $4,000- $233 out of paycheck every 2 weeks
$2,000 deductible 80% after deductible, out of pocket max $6,000- $133 out of paycheck every 2 weeks

My mortgage is with PNC Bank, I think they turned down bailout money.

I think I might call this week and see if I can do that, once (if) things get better, I can always pay a few hundred extra to offset the interest.

do you go to the doctor a lot? are you prone to illness? if yes, then you should probably take the most expenisve plan, if you dont ever go, then take the cheapest one. keep in mind you can change this ever november. So if life events happen that dictate you needing to see a doctor more often you can make changes accordingly

Health insurance is an absolute joke and the entire healthcare industry is bleeding us all dry while a few get rich. We all like to blame Obama, or the Dems or the Repubs, but in reality, it is the greedy ass healthcare execs who are jacking the cost of medical supplies for no reason, then jacking the price of healthcare in order to cover that, it's like double dipping. But Obama and the politicians allow them to do it and don't even try to create legislation to offset it. If we did not have a baby, I would seriously consider dropping healthcare for a year or two. I think about 40% of what my wife makes goes to healthcare and we still have bills rolling in from the birth in July for $50, $150, $220, etc. It is fucking bullshit.
